Basics on COVID-19 Infection Prevention – Certificate Course

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The disease has spread globally since 2019, resulting in the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. Common symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Muscle pain, sputum production, and sore throat are less common symptoms. While the majority of cases result in mild symptoms, some progress to pneumonia and multi-organ failure.
Aim:
To ensure that participants are able to take measures to prevent COVID-19 and are able to identify the signs and symptoms of the disease.
Objectives:
(1) understand history of novel coronavirus;
(2) be able to understand the signs and symptoms of COVID-19;
(3) be able to understand how to properly wash hands;
(3) be able to understand how to properly use a face mask;
Assessment:
This training will utilize quizzes for assessment. After each module, a quiz will be provided to assess the understanding of the student. In order to pass this course, a score of at least 80% is required from the quizzes.
Part 1:
Theory and video presentation.
No practical skill assessment is required for this course.
Certificate
On successful completion of the training, a Basics on COVID-19 Infection Prevention certificate will be awarded to each participant.
